Proprioception

Proprioception is our body's ability to understand where we are in space without looking. We have mechanoreceptors in our muscles and ligaments that send messages to the brain about position, and tension informing the brain of where we are. About 10% of our proprioception is from the eyes, 20% in the ears and 70% from our muscles and ligaments and contact with the ground or other objects.
